Welcome!

I'm a brand new Stampin' Up! demonstrator and this is a place to share ideas for cards, and other paper crafts.

Feel free to add your comments when you feel like, but please be constructive in your criticism.

I'll share my latest creations- all aren't solely SU!, as I'm new to this and have a ton of contraband on hand!!!

So, welcome and feel free to look around. Not much to see right now, but as time goes on, there will be!

July NewsBLetter (combo of newsletter and blog!)

Fall/Winter 2008 Catalog

The new catalog will be out August 11, 2008. You can order products from the current catalog until the night of August 10th. If you want to order something and want to wait until then, let me know by the 5th of August so I can plan to put in an order. Sometimes if you wait to put in an order at the last minute, it doesn't get processed right away because of the rush.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE A PREVIEW OF THE NEW "IN COLOR" COLORS?

I will receive a shipment on July 17th (according to UPS) and will have the new In Color- colors and one of the new Designer Series Paper. I will also have one of the new punches that will be in the new catalog.....

Call me to book a workshop and see a preview of the new catalog!

3-D PROJECTS

There are many 3-D projects that can be made with your cardstock. Really cute stuff that you can use as gift boxes, containers for shower favors, teacher gifts, and even boxes for your cards. I have many patterns to make these cute items. Let me know if you'd like to see them and I can get templates to you and help you make them. No workshop needed! The two-sided cardstock is great for these projects.

CARDS WE ALL HATE TO MAKE, BUT NEED TO HAVE ON HAND

Yep- I'm talking about sympathy cards. We hate to think of them, but when we need one, we don't really feel like sitting down to see if our creative juices are flowing. They are usually needed right away so don't wait- as you're doing one card, make one that you can put a "thinking of you" on and you can use that as your sympathy card.

Stamping Club

I want to start a stamping club that meets once or twice a month- once to have just a get together and create and the 2nd meeting would be more of a workshop. It won't be starting until after September as I'm already committed to another club.

If you're interested in doing this, let me know......

Lastly, I have a great tutorial I found for dyeing ribbon- this way you can use your reinkers to dye white ribbon to match your project! If you try this, email me pictures so I can see what you've done!

RIBBON DYEING

By Amy Rysavy

Supplies:

White grosgrain ribbon
Spray bottle filled with water
Small container
Gloves
Paper towel
Scissors
Hairdryer or heat gun
Reinker

Directions:

Take 2 yards of ribbon and wrap around fingers to get a manageable bundle.

Spray water into a small container- for this amount of ribbon spray approximately 15 times.

Add about 10 drops of reinker. The mixture will be much darker than the finished product. If ribbon dries too light, you can always re-dye using more reinker.

Put the ribbon into the container with mixture of water and ink
Press ribbon into mixture until fully saturated.

If ribbon has absorbed all of the mixture and is still white, pull the ribbon out and add more water and re-inker then repeat previous steps.

Remove ribbon and place on paper towel to absorb any excess moisture.

Unwind ribbon and blot with paper towel to speed drying process. To heat set the dye and finish drying the ribbon, use a hairdryer or heat gun – it will only take a minute or two….use caution with heat gun and don’t burn your fingers….

Love this Lucy!!!! Very nice.

Am interested in the 2x monthly club/workshop. Please be aware that I work every other Monday and my attendence is dependent upon my work schedule. I would be responsible for my minimum purchase regardless of my ability to attend.
